Conceptual Idea

Parti Diagram. The meeting space is embedded with in the volume and also underground to remove it as much as possible from exterior elements.

Preliminary Process Sketch. The image shows the relationship between the two enviornments and how a person would travel from one to the other. A single openign allowing light through guides people through the architecture.

D.C. Meetinghouse_"The Meeting Room"_serves also as a utliity/ambiguous space for the surrounding communities when the space is not being used for the intended purpose of spiritual worship, thereby "cementing" the design to the needs of the entire community in which the building is situated.
