Re-Thinking Surfaces: Door to Table
The key to sustainability is finding uses for things after their original purpose has expired. This project re-thinks the function of an old hardwood door, transforming it into a a unique living room table. Mechanisms, details, nuances and dents are all kept and accentuated, alluding to the table's former life as a door while being contemporary as a horizontal surface.

Some of the original nuances of the original door that I wanted to keep as I began to transform it into a table.

Hard at work. One of the beauties of design for me is being able to make the things that I see in my mind and transfer to paper. For me, design is equal parts creating and equal parts making - they go hand in hand.
